Mapathon Missing Maps

bidibidi-evolution-light

Magellium, in partnership with Airbus DS, sponsors a Mapathon on Thursday 19th January, bringing together 40 people from Airbus DS, Magellium and partners (IGN, CNES, ISAE).

This mapathon, organized by CartONG as part of the Missing Map, aims to produce a map in 3 hours of an area of interest for an ongoing humanitarian operation. CartONG and MSF have chosen a refugee camp in northern Uganda (border with southern Sudan), zone 4 du camp Yumbe en Ouganda, that has to face the arrival of 400,000 people since early 2016.

Airbus DS will provide recent Pleiades images and will make use of OneAtlas service to assess imaging from OpenStreetMap(OSM) mapping tools. Magellium will then implement its solution MAGOSM to assess OSM vector data.

Magellium Launches LocKeeper, a vision-based embedded solution for geo-location

logo_locKeeperHDAfter several months of development, laboratory & real condition testing, Magellium is pleased to announce the launch of LocKeeper, an vision-based embedded solution for geo-location for autonomous vehicles. This solution has been developed in partnership with DelairTech in the frame of a RAPID project of the DGA (French MoD procurement agency). A flight demonstration on mini-drone was conducted recently in the presence of experts of the French MoD who cheered system performance – first no GPS flight of an autonomous mini UAV in France.

LocKeeper solution makes autonomous vehicles less dependent on GPS availability and provides a better geo-location accuracy. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

Philae is waking up… the exploration of Chury about to resume ?

rosetta-mag-02-descent

After 7 months of waiting, Rosetta has just captured signs of life Philae robot. It seems that the robot is out of hibernation for several days now and is ready to get back to work. Rosetta will have to change now its trajectory to optimize its radio link with Philae, without compromising its own scientific activities and safety.

Regarding the relevance and quality of the work conducted by Magellium for CNES last year on image processing and analysis of CIVA and ROLIS instruments, Magellium will be again on board to help scientists to control Philae and to characterize Chury environment.

Magellium is proud to contribute to this human, scientific and technical adventure.

Final demonstration of DERIC project (RAPID DGA) – 5 & 6 March 2015 at Camp de Souge (33- France)

Drone Delair-tech

Delair-Tech and his partners Airbus and Magellium organize the final demonstration of the DERIC project (RAPID DGA) on the 5 & 6 March 2015 at the military training camp “camp de Souge” (33-France) under the aegis of the DGA.

Several flights of DT-26 and DT-18 long distance civil drones of Delair-Tech will be held during those two days to demonstrate advanced technical solutions developed within the framework of this project:

  • Overview of DT- 26 and DT- 18 systems,
  • Vision-based navigation “incremental localization” mode (development Magellium),
  • Vision-based navigation mode “absolute location + incremental” (development Magellium),
  • Remote Sensing (optronics pod for automatic vehicles or people detection (IR and movement) with real-time image transmission of “alarms” on the ground (Magellium co- development),
  • Real-time air-ground communication with 3G and Iridium.
