Job description
As part of its Earth observation activities, Magellium is involved in major programs led by space agencies and other institutions. Magellium is recognized by its customers for its scientific expertise in many fields, ranging from measurement physics to downstream applications. The Earth observation projects entrusted to us by our customers involve, in particular, the implementation of scientific processing chains for data acquired by satellites.
These processing chains, whether prototypes or operational, are developed with a view to integration into the ground segments of satellite missions. The specificity of these processes lies in the combined mastery of scientific or algorithmic remote sensing techniques and the methodological, organizational, and IT engineering of processing chains in an environment often constrained by robustness and performance requirements.

As part of our “Earth Observation” Unit, you will join a team specializing in the geometric modeling of satellite sensors—that is, the range of techniques used to ensure the precise geolocation of satellite images—with our main clients being space agencies such as CNES and ESA.
Dans le cadre du lancement du programme MS-HR, récemment sélectionné dans le cadre du plan France 2030 aux côtés de Loft Orbital, nous recrutons un(e) ingénieur développeur(se) de chaînes de traitement d’images spatiales afin de démarrer sur ce nouveau projet stratégique.
The MS-HR program aims to provide France with an unprecedented Earth observation capability through a constellation of 10 satellites that deliver multispectral imagery with a high revisit rate.
Votre poste sera centré sur le développement de chaînes opérationnelles de traitement d’images satellites et des outils associés, incluant la simulation d’image ainsi que les processus de calibration/validation.
As such, your main missions include :
- Technical Specifications: Help define the technical specifications of processing chains in collaboration with business experts.
- Développement et validation d’algorithmes : concevoir, implémenter et valider des algorithmes de correction pour les images issues de capteurs optiques spatiaux.Conception d’outils de calibration/validation et de contrôle qualité : développer des outils permettant de mesurer et d’améliorer la qualité des images produites.Assurance qualité : réaliser les tests unitaires et d’intégration afin de garantir la robustesse et la qualité des développements.
- Maintenance of operational readiness: ensuring the evolution and operational support of existing tools.
- Documentation and support: writing the associated technical documentation and providing support to users of the developed tools.
Profile required
Diplômé(e) d’une école d’ingénieur et/ou titulaire d’un master en informatique, mathématiques appliquées ou traitement d’image, vous justifiez d’au moins 3 ans d’expérience en développement informatique sur un projet scientifique, idéalement sur du traitement d’images spatiales.
You have a solid understanding of algorithms and a strong interest in the space sector. Experience in space ground segments would be a plus.

The trial period is 4 months. This period may be renewed in certain situations, but not systematically.
Will I be provided with a work computer?
Yes, when you arrive you'll be provided with a workstation complete with monitor, PC, keyboard and mouse. Office supplies will also be at your disposal.
Is remote work possible?
Our company agreement provides for the possibility of remote work up to 2 days a week. Remote working is possible as soon as the trial period has been validated and provided the project allows it (for example, this is not the case for defense projects for reasons of confidentiality).
