Magellium Artal Group is an engineering and services group with nearly 300 engineers and PhDs, recognized for its scientific expertise as well as its capabilities in software and systems engineering, image processing, and geospatial data.
For 26 years, we have been providing high-value-added solutions, mastering image data processing technologies, and developing and maintaining complex software tailored to our clients’ needs. With 10% of our revenue dedicated to Research and Development, our commitment to innovation has shaped our reputation among major national, European, and international players.

The company has a presence in France at three strategic locations.
Toulouse, known as the European space capital and the international capital of aeronautics, is home to our headquarters, firmly establishing our presence at the heart of the aerospace industry. In Paris, our office strengthens our proximity to partners and clients, fostering national and international collaborations. Finally, inNantes, our recent establishment supports the growth of our business and consolidates our presence on the Atlantic coast, in close proximity to the region’s industrial, maritime, and technology players.
This alliance of the two sites enables us to provide innovative solutions for our customers in France and abroad.

1998
Artal Technologies, a spin-off of Matra Espace, was founded by two engineers, Pierre Duverneuil and Raphaël Giraud. From the outset, the company focused on developing software components for real-time space and aeronautical systems. Major commercial development with the retention of key customers (Airbus, Thales Alenia Space, DGAC, DGA, etc.). The certifications necessary for credibility were obtained, such as ISO standards and Defense confidentiality.
2003
Magellium was founded with the initial goal of meeting the needs of CNES, IGN, and SpotImage (Astrium GeoServices, now ADS). In 2009, the company acquired the defense division of Générale d'Infographie and the assets of GeoTexel. It is also involved in the development of computer vision-based solutions for robotics applications.
2015-2016
Establishment of a holding company, FGD (Finances Gestion & Développement), which became necessary for structuring and external growth. Integration of Magellium into Artal Technologies, forming the Magellium Artal Group. The company became a credible supplier for customers in the aerospace, defense, energy, and public sectors. With 200 employees, the new Group has European ambitions.
After a structuring phase and a move to a new 3500 m2 building in Toulouse, the Group acquired a reputation in Europe and even beyond, in the space and defense sectors. In 2020, a minority fund acquired a stake in the Group to help with external growth operations. In 2024, the Group's Paris site moves to larger premises in La Garenne-Colombes.
The Group is planning an ambitious and reasonable development, respecting delivery quality, profitability and ethical and sustainable development commitments. After some successes, the Group's commercial ambitions are focused on Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the USA.
