INTERNSHIP SUBJECT: Single and multi-target real-time tracking
For over 10 years, Magellium has been actively involved in R&D in the field of airborne video processing. The solutions developed can be real-time or delayed, on-board or off-board, for drones or other aircraft.
These technologies have a wide range of applications: defense, civil security, cartography...
In this context, Magellium has been developing various software bricks and algorithms for several years, grouped together in the Constelllations suite(https://constellations.magellium.com/), and has acquired substantial hardware resources: UAVs of various sizes and capacities, optronic turrets, on-board cards, etc.
Real-time object tracking is a central issue in many operational scenarios, from tracking moving targets on the ground or in the air, to analyzing complex dynamic scenes.
The aim of this internship is to carry out a technology watch on recent approaches to single and multi-object tracking in complex environments, and to set up a software demonstrator illustrating the integration of these methods on video sequences representative of operational use cases.
In this context, the proposed missions will be :
- Literature review and state of the art on tracking algorithms.
- Comparison of different approaches in terms of robustness, accuracy, computational cost and feasibility for real-time use.
- Implementation of a multi-object tracking demonstrator and integration into the Constellations suite.
Profile required
As a student in a university or engineering school preparing a Bac+5 diploma, or a specialized Master's degree, you ideally have a specialization in computer development or computer vision.
You are curious and like challenges. Rigor, autonomy, a sense of initiative and diligence are other skills that will enable you to successfully complete this internship.

Do you hire trainees?
Yes, we hire end-of-study internships. These internships can then develop into permanent contracts (50% of internships transformed into permanent contracts by 2023).
Do you take on work-study students?
We can take on work-study students subject to availability of places and the company/school rhythm, as some projects are not always compatible with a work-study rhythm.
What is the recruitment process at Magellium Artal Group?
The process is fast! We first contact you for an initial discussion with the HR department by telephone or, ideally, on site at our premises. How long is the trial period for an engineer?
The trial period is 4 months. This period may be renewed in certain situations, but not systematically.
Will I be provided with a work computer?
Yes, when you arrive you'll be provided with a workstation complete with monitor, PC, keyboard and mouse. Office supplies will also be at your disposal.
Is remote work possible?
Our company agreement provides for the possibility of remote work up to 2 days a week. Remote working is possible as soon as the trial period has been validated and provided the project allows it (for example, this is not the case for defense projects for reasons of confidentiality).

Our Toulouse and Courbevoie sites are accessible by public transport (metro and/or streetcar).
