These processing chains are designed for various purposes: scientific research, concept validation, or integration into the ground segments of satellite missions. Their distinctive feature lies in the need to combine expertise in scientific and algorithmic remote sensing techniques with a mastery of the engineering (methodological, organizational, and IT) aspects of processing chains.
Within the Earth Observation unit, you will work as part of a team specializing in the development of processing chains and deep learning, with space agencies, including CNES and ESA, as its main clients.
The position available is for aTech Lead in downstream processing for Earth Observation.
Working closely with the current head of the team specializing in deep learning studies, this position involves technical responsibility for the development of downstream chains, i.e., the processes that take place after the initial correction stages to extract value-added information from satellite images: 3D rendering, soil classification, atmospheric characterization, change detection, etc.
In this role, your main responsibilities will be:
- Overall management and coordinationof image processing chain development, ensuring that objectives are met, in collaboration with the client and partners.
- Technical management, monitoring, and reportingon development progress (organization of work, resource management, monitoring of technical risks, etc.)
- Interface management and collaborationwith technical experts for detailed specification of tools and algorithms
- Supervision and validation of thedesign, development, and testing phases(unit, integration, and validation) to ensure that the project complies with technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining operational readiness(MOC) andmanaging changesto existing tools, incorporating user feedback
- Coordinating responses to calls for tenders andactively contributing to the development of proposals, particularly with regard to understanding requirements and technical solutions.
Profile required
You hold a degree from a prestigious engineering school or a PhD in computer science, applied mathematics, or image processing, and have proven experience in technical leadership in the development of a satellite image processing chain. You are interested in the space sector and ideally have a good understanding of satellite image processing using deep learning.

- Optical imaging, image processing
- Strong skills in scientific computing and related languages (Python)
- Excellent ability to synthesize, critically review documents, and write in a scientific context
- Ability to manage projects with a strong technical/scientific component in the field of Earth observation
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken

The trial period is 4 months. This period may be renewed in certain situations, but not systematically.

Yes, when you arrive you'll be provided with a workstation complete with monitor, PC, keyboard and mouse. Office supplies will also be at your disposal.
Is remote work possible?
Our company agreement provides for the possibility of remote work up to 2 days a week. Remote working is possible as soon as the trial period has been validated and provided the project allows it (for example, this is not the case for defense projects for reasons of confidentiality).
