GIS Project Manager (M/F)

Job description

About Magellium Artal Group

Magellium Artal Group, with its 300 employees, is a major independent player specializing in digital geography—from pixel processing to geographic data analysis—within its clients’ IT systems. Magellium Artal Group supports its clients with a comprehensive 360° service offering covering research, consulting, project management, integration, and maintenance in the fields of imagery, video, drones, GIS, mapping, and geointelligence, leveraging expertise in software, AI, signal processing, and geomatics technologies.

You will join the Magellium Artal Group Paris division, which defines, designs, develops, implements, and ensures the operational maintenance of GIS within the IT systems of companies, local governments, and government agencies for various applications with geographic components.

The position

As part of a dynamic team of GIS web development and geomatics engineers, you will help manage GIS projects for clients in a variety of sectors (energy, transportation, defense, etc.).

Are you looking to take the next step in your career? Are you an experienced geomatics professional with solid technical experience who wants to move into roles involving more leadership, coordination, and project management? Then this opportunity is perfect for you!

As part of the GIS team, you will gradually take on responsibilities in project management and coordination, with the support of experienced project managers.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Understand and analyze customer needs in order to propose tailored solutions in collaboration with the technical teams.
  • Support the monitoring of GIS projects: organization, planning, coordination of activities, and tracking of progress.
  • Help prepare and monitor project schedules, ensuring that deadlines are met.
  • Help coordinate the various stakeholders (internal teams, partners, and clients).
  • Ensure the quality of the deliverables and that they meet the stated requirements.
  • Participate in the operational monitoring of projects and the preparation of reports.
  • Gradually build a relationship of trust with customers and contribute to their satisfaction.

Over time, you will be expected to take on greater autonomy in managing projects, both in terms of organisational and interpersonal aspects.

Profile required

You hold a master’s degree in geomatics, computer science, or a related field, and have at least 5 years of experience in the field of GIS and geomatics.

You have a solid technical understanding of GIS tools, methods, and environments, and enjoy collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders.

Recognized for your organizational skills, your independence, and your ability to bring people together, you are now looking to broaden your scope of work by moving into roles that involve coordinating and managing projects.

Previous experience in project management or coordination is a plus, but not a requirement. Above all, we are looking for a GIS expert who is eager to transition into a project manager role, with tailored support to gradually develop these new skills.
