Job description
Magellium (Groupe Artal), avec ses 300 collaborateurs, est un acteur indépendant, spécialisé sur la chaîne de valorisation de la donnée de télédétection (du capteur satellite ou drone jusqu’à son utilisation dans les systèmes et les services d’observation de la terre, la cartographie et la Géo intelligence) qui promeut la maîtrise des technologies spatiales, du logiciel, du traitement de signal et de la géomatique.
Dans le cadre de ses activités en Observation de la Terre, Magellium intervient dans des grands programmes portés par les agences spatiales ou autres Institutions. Magellium est reconnu par ses clients pour son expertise scientifique sur de nombreux domaines, allant de la physique de la mesure aux applications avals. Les projets d’observation de la Terre sur lesquels nos Clients nous font confiance mettent notamment en œuvre des chaînes de traitements scientifiques des données acquises par satellites.
Ces chaînes de traitement, prototypes ou opérationnelles, sont développées en vue d’une intégration dans les segments sol des missions satellitaires. La spécificité de ces traitements réside dans la maîtrise conjuguée des techniques scientifiques ou algorithmiques de télédétection et de l’ingénierie, méthodologique, organisationnelle et informatique, des chaînes de traitements dans un environnement souvent contraint par la robustesse et la performance.
Rattaché.e à l’unité « Observation de la Terre », vous travaillerez au sein d’une équipe spécialisée dans la modélisation géométrique des capteurs satellites, avec pour principaux clients les agences spatiales, dont le CNES et l’ESA.
Le poste à pourvoir concerne le développement d’outils pour le CNES dans le domaine de la modélisation géométrique de capteurs satellites optiques, c’est-à-dire l’ensemble des techniques permettant d’établir la géolocalisation précise des images satellites.
As such, your main missions include :
- Développement, implémentation et validation d’algorithmes de modélisation géométrique des capteurs optiques spatiaux
- Conception et développement des logiciels et des algorithmes des chaînes de traitement et des outils de calibration/validation, en assurant la performance et la robustesse
- Participation à la spécification technique des outils géométriques en collaboration avec les experts (CNES/ESA/Magellium)
- Réalisation de tests unitaires et d’intégration pour garantir la qualité et la précision des développements
- Maintien en condition opérationnelle et évolution des outils existants
- Documentation technique des développements et des résultats obtenus
- Assurer le support technique auprès des utilisateurs des outils développés
- Contribution aux propositions techniques dans le cadre de réponses à appels d’offres
Profile required
Diplômé.e d’une Grande École d’Ingénieur et/ou titulaire d’un doctorat dans les domaines de l’informatique, des mathématiques appliquées ou du traitement d’image, vous justifiez d’une expérience reconnue en développement informatique supérieure ou égale à trois ans.
Vous avez une bonne capacité de compréhension des algorithmes. Vous êtes intéressés par le domaine spatial et disposez idéalement d’une expérience dans le domaine des segments sol spatiaux.
Compétences techniques/hard skills
- Bon niveau écrit et oral en anglais
- Compétences en programmation scientifique (Python et/ou C++)
- Maîtrise de Docker et des procédures d’intégration et de développement continus (CI/CD)
- Socle de connaissances en mathématiques appliquées souhaité, en particulier en traitement du signal

- Aptitude à la documentation (rédaction et lecture) et à la communication orale (présentation et discussion avec des experts).

Do you hire trainees?
Yes, we hire end-of-study internships. These internships can then develop into permanent contracts (50% of internships transformed into permanent contracts by 2023).
Do you take on work-study students?
We can take on work-study students subject to availability of places and the company/school rhythm, as some projects are not always compatible with a work-study rhythm.

How long is the trial period for an engineer?
The trial period is 4 months. This period may be renewed in certain situations, but not systematically.
Will I be provided with a work computer?
Yes, when you arrive you'll be provided with a workstation complete with monitor, PC, keyboard and mouse. Office supplies will also be at your disposal.
Is remote work possible?
Our company agreement provides for the possibility of remote work up to 2 days a week. Remote working is possible as soon as the trial period has been validated and provided the project allows it (for example, this is not the case for defense projects for reasons of confidentiality).
