Job description
Magellium (Artal Group), with its 300 employees, is an independent player specializing in the remote sensing data value chain (from satellite or drone sensors to their use in Earth observation systems and services, mapping, and geointelligence), promoting expertise in space technologies, software, signal processing, and geomatics.
As part of its Earth observation activities, Magellium is involved in major programs led by space agencies and other institutions. Magellium is recognized by its customers for its scientific expertise in many fields, ranging from measurement physics to downstream applications. The Earth observation projects entrusted to us by our customers involve, in particular, the implementation of scientific processing chains for data acquired by satellites.
These processing chains, whether prototypes or operational, are developed with a view to integration into the ground segments of satellite missions. The specificity of these processes lies in the combined mastery of scientific or algorithmic remote sensing techniques and the methodological, organizational, and IT engineering of processing chains in an environment often constrained by robustness and performance requirements.
Attached to the "Earth Observation" unit, you will work within a team specializing in geometric modeling of satellite sensors, with space agencies, including CNES and ESA, as your main clients.
The position to be filled involves developing tools for CNES in the field of geometric modeling of optical satellite sensors, i.e., all techniques used to establish the precise geolocation of satellite images.
As such, your main missions include :
- Development, implementation, and validation of geometric modeling algorithms for space-based optical sensors
- Design and development of software and algorithms for processing chains and calibration/validation tools, ensuring performance and robustness
- Participation in the technical specification of geometric tools in collaboration with experts (CNES/ESA/Magellium)
- Performing unit and integration tests to ensure the quality and accuracy of developments
- Maintaining operational readiness and upgrading existing tools
- Technical documentation of developments and results obtained
- Provide technical support to users of the tools developed
- Contribution to technical proposals in response to calls for tenders
Profile required
You are a graduate of a prestigious engineering school and/or hold a PhD in computer science, applied mathematics, or image processing, and have at least three years of recognized experience in computer development.
You have a good understanding of algorithms. You are interested in the space sector and ideally have experience in the field of space ground segments.

- Good written and spoken English
- Scientific programming skills (Python and/or C++)
- Proficiency in Docker and continuous integration and development (CI/CD) procedures
- Desired knowledge base in applied mathematics, particularly in signal processing

The trial period is 4 months. This period may be renewed in certain situations, but not systematically.

Yes, when you arrive you'll be provided with a workstation complete with monitor, PC, keyboard and mouse. Office supplies will also be at your disposal.
Is remote work possible?
Our company agreement provides for the possibility of remote work up to 2 days a week. Remote working is possible as soon as the trial period has been validated and provided the project allows it (for example, this is not the case for defense projects for reasons of confidentiality).
